The department of Anatomy of Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College Hospital and Research Centre was established in 1996.
The department offers courses like MBBS, MD Anatomy, PhD Anatomy, MSc Anatomy.
The department caters to 250 MBBS students,100 BDS students,100 BPT students Nursing and B. Sc. allied health sciences UG students as well as MDS ,M. Sc Nursing, M. Sc Clinical Embryology PG students.
The department has highly qualified, experienced and dedicated teaching faculty as well as supporting staff.
It has a state of art Museum which includes sections of Gross Anatomy, Fetal Anatomy, Radiological Anatomy, Osteology and Embryology along with the digital display of the same.
Department has well equipped video recording room.
Dissection hall is equipped with modern audio visual aids along with industrial exhaust system.
The Histology lab also has digital display besides being well equipped.
Genetics lab is part of Anatomy department .We also have departmental library with latest reference books and journals.
Department is conducting a value added certified course for undergraduate students on “Body Donation and Embalming”,
