Greetings!!! On behalf of Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune, I extend a warm welcome to you. Established in 1996, the Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre is a renowned teaching and research institution in the country. It is recognized by the National Medical Commission, New Delhi. Every year, 250 students are admitted to the MBBS course. Students can pursue their Postgraduate Degree Courses (MD/MS) in 20 specialties from this Institute! Besides that, there are 12 Super Specialty Courses (M.Ch. and D.M.) in Neurosurgery, Urology, Nephrology, Cardiology, Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, Neurology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Interventional Radiology, Surgical Oncology, Critical Care Medicine, Medical Gastroenterology and Paediatric Surgery. The intake of students per year is 220 for PG Degree Courses and 30 for Superspeciality Courses."
As for the Hospital & Research Centre, it has twenty-one Operation Theaters and ten super specialty OPDs with highly sophisticated facilities for quality patient care. Available at the precincts are - 2 Cardiac Cath Labs, 3 CT Scans including state–of–the–art 128 slice equipment, three MRI machines, Colour Doppler, Dialysis units besides the usual Operation Theatres, ICUs, and equipped Laboratories. Usually, for specialized investigations sophisticated tests are required. These facilities are available in the hospital!
The infrastructure of the Institution can be compared to the best in the world. The library boasts of the latest books, journals, and periodicals, Internet facilities, and an air-conditioned environment conducive to learning. We believe that the strength of an Institution lies in its team! At the Hospital & Research Centre, we have a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty, ably supported by an equally dedicated staff. Conferences, Workshops with International Faculty, and teleconferencing with top Universities worldwide are done regularly. Our students have been selected to present scientific papers at the International and National level conferences.
Besides the academic activities, we also have the “Outreach Program of the Hospital” In this program, the Hospital organizes medical camps in the rural areas to serve the poor and weaker sections of the society. By this endeavor, we have fulfilled the dream of our Founder President, Dr. D. Y. Patil, who always believes in serving the less fortunate ones of the society. Our Chancellor, Dr. P. D. Patil, and Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Bhagyashree P. Patil's inspiration, and encouragement have given a fillip to medical research, and today, the College, Hospital & Research Center has made a mark as a world-class Institution of learning, research and high-quality patient care. The Institution has also garnered many awards and recognitions in the national and International arena.
