Department

The Department of Urology is recognized by the Medical council of India for trainingStudent for the degree of M.Ch.(Urology).

At present the Department admits twostudents per year for the M. Ch (Urology) degree course of Dr. D. Y. Patil University, Pimpri, and Pune 18. Six students have passed their M.Ch. (Urology) examination till now

Besides, two General Surgery residents appearing for M.S (Gen. Surgery) are posted for urology training by rotation.

The Department has following schedule of training besides routine ward work, Surgery & ward rounds.

  • Seminar – Once a month.
  • Journal Club – Every fortnight.
  • Uro-Radiology Meeting – Once a month.
  • Uro-Pathology Meeting – Once in three months.
  • Grand Round by all Faculty Members & Residents – Once a week.
  • Under Graduate teaching by faculty staff & residents & training of two residents on rotation for two months from the department of surgery.
  • Attendance at the monthly meeting of Urology Society of Pune.
  • Arranges regular workshops, CMEs and discussions at national level.
  • Guest lecturer and operative technical demonstration from eminent surgeons.
  • Nephrology posting.
  • Attendance at various conferences and workshops:
    • Local Conferences.
    • Regional Conferences – Organized by West zone Urological Society of India.
    • National Conferences – Organized by Urology Society of India.
    • International Conferences – As and when possible.

  • Dr Sujata Patwardhan , Head of Dept, Dept of Urology, GSMC & KEM Hospital, Mumbai had come to perform a complex Penile implant Surgery & to teach our residents on 10/04/2018
  • Dr. Manabesh Pramanik, had come on 04/01/2018 in DYPMC, Pune for demonstration of Laparoscopic retroperitoneal approach
  • Dr. Bhalchandra Kapshyapi had come on 04/06/2018 in DYPMC, Pune for demonstration of Metastatic CA Prostate.
  • Dr. Pankaj Joshi (Urologist) had come on 27/7/2018 in DYPMC, Pune for demonstration and teaching of Urethroplasty Surgery.
  • Dr. Sanjay Kulkarni(Urologist) had come on 12/10/18 to DYPMC, Pune for demonstrating and teaching urethroplasty in a complex case of stricture urethra.
