The Sports Medicine Division of Department of Orthopaedics actively participates in कुतूहल Medical Exhibition. We hosted a dedicated stall. The highlights of this stall were

Aim:-

i) To project our Sports Medicine Services; like Arthroscopy; Sports Injuries management & Rehabilitation, Sports Nutrition; Sports Physiotherapy etc.

ii) To project our new Hospital as an ultramodern tertiary center providing A to Z Services. Under are roof including Sports Medicine.

iii) To promote DPU a center of excellence in medical educational by projecting our new upcoming world class, DPU Simmulation Skills Lab.

We provided the following services at the Staffs all.

Counselling by qualified staff about sports Medicine & our services.

Free whole body Composition Analysis to analyse body fat, muscle mass & other parameters.

Expert Nutritional guidance based on body composition Analyis

Display of ultramodern 4-D virtual reality Simulator as part of Skill’s Lab.

To promoted people to visit & Take benefit of our new Hospital & our medical services.

• Dr. Amit Kale (Prof) has written on the topic ”Knee Osteoarthritis” published on 16^th May 2019 in Sakal Paper.

• Dr. Rahul Salunkhe (Prof.) spoke about Vitamin D deficiency during the covid pandemic on 93.5 FM Radio on 24^th June 2021.

• Dr. Yogesh Khandalkar (SR) was Invited as a Guest Speaker on FM Radio 107.8 (Puneri Awaz) held on 25^th Sept.2021

· Dr. Tushar Pisal (Asso.Prof) has participated and case report presentation in Spine Symposium 1 Hour session, dated 20^th October 2021

· Topic- Congenital Kyphosis

· A Inter Collegiate & Inter departmental symposium was conducted by Sports Medicine Division of Orthopaedics Department on the 30^th October 2021, it’s a Saturday between 9am to 2pm at Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College (Hi-tech Building, 6^th Floor, Library Seminar Hall.)

Topic: - “Symposium on Hand & Wrist.”

We have lined up excellent faculty both from DYP and outside DYP.

Department of Orthopaedics Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune Succesfully conducted an Intecollegiate Quiz Competition under the aegis of Pune Orthopaedics Society (POS) and Pimpri-Chinchwad Orthopaedic Society (PCOS) for orthopaedic Residents.

The event was graced by a total of 18 Participants from various prominent institutes of pune including Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune, Armed Force Medical College Pune, Sancheti Hospital Pune and MIMER Medical College & Hospital, Talegaon.

Live Surgery Symposium September 2022

The Department of Orthopaedics in association with the Pimpri Chinchwad Orthopaedic Association, Organised a live surgery symposium to enhance the Surgical Skills and to provide live surgical exposure to all delegates.

The workshop was conducted successfully in association with PCOA on 25th September, 2022 at the Auditorium and Live surgery taking place in the Operation Theatre.

This was enthusiastically attended by 118 Delegates and renowned Faculties from all over Maharashtra, like Dr. Pradeep Kothadia, Dr. Vijay Kakatkar, Dr. Sampat Dhumbre Patil, Dr. Sham Shinde and Dr. S. Prasanth.

The Occasion was graced and Inaugurated by Dr. J.S. Bhawalkar, Dean of Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pune and Dr. P. Vatsalaswamy , Director Of IQAC and Academics, and various Stalwarts

The delegation feedback resounded of excellence in both practical and academic aspects.

Dr. Rahul Salunkhe successfully executed the responsibilities of Joint organizing secretary in the Live Surgery Symposium conducted on 25^th September 2022

INTEGRATED TEACHING PROGRAMME FOR PG STUDENTS

The Department of Orthopaedics in association with the Department of Paediatrics and Department of Microbiology , Organised an Integrated PG Teaching Program to enhance the Theoretical and Practical knowledge of all PG Students Of DPU,Pune.

The Topic was Septic Arthritis and Chronic Osteomyelitis in Children . The Residents prepared very informative presentations , giving insights into the etiology, pathology, management and resistance and various other aspects.

This was enthusiastically attended by all respected department faculties and PG residents. It was attended by 90 candidates collectively with faculty.

The feedback resounded of excellence in both practical and academic aspects.

GUEST LECTURE ON RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Guest Lecture on Research Methodology was organized at the Department of Orthopaedic, Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune -18. By Dr. Kiran Chowan on 6^th Sept. 2023.

It was a detailed and informative 1 Hrs session focusing on in depth points of making a research paper in a systematic way. The guest lecture was a success with active participation from faculty and Residents.

WORLD OSTEOPOROSIS DAY 2023

20^th October 2023 our department had organised “World Osteoporosis Day 2023” Celebrations

The events were as follows-

Free BMD Camp was organised from 9AM to 5PM in Ortho OPD and a total of 92 patients were screened, counseled regarding Prevention of Osteoporosis.
Guest lecture was taken by a renowned Orthopaedic surgeon Shailesh Ratnaparkhi Sir at 11:30AM on Treatment and Prevention of Osteoporosis in MEU hall was attended by 30 delegates.
Poster Competition was organised and many students actively participated in this event.
